Good God, Man!

“Are you a good dad, Raymond King?” Asks the Accountant in the film by the same name.

Good – Bad – value judgements. Something being labelled good or bad depends on your values and how you measure something. There are some generally agreed upon codes of good and bad. However, as we acknowledge more and more the rights of individuals, we turn these values over to greater subjective scrutiny. What do “I” think?

So, today, rather than argue from one world view or another, I want to zoom way out and offer a perspective.

Human life has value. We are all endowed with the energy of creation. For those who believe in a Creator, we are all endowed with the life of the Creator. We all need love. We all need community. We all have the right to live in peace.

We cannot control peace outside ourselves. We can choose peace within. We can choose peace and be committed to peace. We can choose to respect life or, if you like, the life of the Creator in all people. It is a choice.

Keep in mind that the choice is not reciprocal. We can expect nothing in return. But if we foster peace within and give peace to others, we have peace in knowing we have given ourselves to the “Good”.

I choose peace. I choose to be a Good God Man. Join me in celebrating peace.
